Iain Blacklock

I am a photographer that likes to shoot many styles but my main passions are portraits, fashion, editorial, and dance, in particular ballet.

I gained my LRPS distinction in 2010, and in 2018 became the co-owner of a small studio for 5 years where, in addition to shooting, I also ran workshops covering studio lighting and editing. I like to use post-processing with textures and colour grading to create images replicating styles like Grimm fairytales, 50s pinup, cinematic, and Degas.

I usually describe myself as a keen photographer and bad guitar player! Professionally I am a software developer, fitting nicely with my creative nature, working on everything from fighter jets to automotive manufacturing systems. I am originally from Kent and moved to Aberdare, with my wife and daughter, in 2024 for a change in lifestyle. Now I am surrounded by beautiful countryside, I plan to rekindle a fondness for landscape photography which is cheaper than hiring models! That said, ballerina in a waterfall, why wouldn’t you?
